Professor Julie Ramos Lagos is originally from Tioga, ND. Her husband Jairo is a PK kid, grew up in the coffee fields of Honduras, and can speak both English and Spanish fluently.  Her husband was a past Pro Cyclist and Coach for the Honduran National Team so he loves all things road and mountain biking.  Julie loves celebrating cultural diversity through cuisine, travel, studies, community, events, and missions work.  Julie also has a passion for music and was worship leader for 6 years.  Julie and her husband Jairo were both instrumental in starting a Spanish ministries in the Bakken during the last oil boom in ND through their local church and often volunteer their time in ministries together.  They are blessed with a 7 year old son who brings them constant entertainment and joy daily.

She encourages students to always strive for ways to use their God-given gifts and talents in blessing others and to always to keep a “strong mind” when preparing for ministry.  2 Timothy 1:7 states, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.” Julie and her family find joy in serving others and the local community.  You will often find them hosting individuals in their home, planning an event to bring people together, and going on a occasional bike ride as a family.
