About

Chelsey Simonsen joined Trinity Bible College & Graduate School’s faculty in August 2024. She teaches in the Psychology Department. Chelsey is a Licensed Addiction Counselor (LAC II) in the state of North Dakota and has been employed by private and public agencies to provide individual, group, and in-patient counseling services. She has also spent time working as a community site coordinator, mentor, and substitute teacher/counselor in the public school setting. During her time working for Lake Region Human Services in Devils Lake, she was the team leader of the adult programming.

Chelsey was a Presidential Scholarship recipient at Trinity Bible College and completed her undergraduate studies in 2011 with a double major in Bible Studies and Intercultural Studies before going on to earn her master’s degree from Grand Canyon University in Addiction Counseling. Chelsey has led college groups to northern Asia as well as traveling to Nicaragua and Thailand.  

Chelsey is married to Derek Simonsen, who is also a faculty member at Trinity, and she has two kids Nora and Noppakun (Benji). Chelsey enjoys spending time on her farm with her family, having a bonfire, and gardening.
