Dr. Choco de Jesus
U.S. Missions DIrector of the Assemblies of God, U.S.A.
Wilfredo “Choco” De Jesús was appointed U.S. Missions Director of the Assemblies of God in April of 2024. He served as general treasurer from 2019-2024. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Team.
He served as lead pastor of New Life Covenant Church in Chicago from 2000-2019. During that time, the church grew to 17,000 adherents globally through church campuses, plants, and more than 75 ministries that reach the most disenfranchised: the poor, homeless, prostitutes, drug addicts, and gang members. Prior to this position, De Jesús served as district youth director for the Midwest Latin District (1989-1996) and as executive assistant to the CEO of Chicago Public Schools (1997- 1999). He was nominated to serve as a Chicago alderman in 2009 and ran for mayor of Chicago in 2010.
De Jesús is the first Latino to serve on the Executive Leadership Team. In 2013, he was named one of Time magazine’s 100 most influential people in the world and recognized for his leadership and influence within the evangelical and Latino communities. De Jesús is the author of Amazing Faith, In the Gap, Stay the Course, Move into More, and Love Them Anyway.
De Jesús holds a doctorate degree from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. He and his wife, Elizabeth, have three adult children and seven grandchildren.

What a beautiful Name
You were the Word at the beginning
One with God the Lord Most High
Your hidden glory in creation
Now revealed in You our Christ
What a beautiful Name it is
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a beautiful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a beautiful Name it is
The Name of Jesus
You didn’t want heaven without us
So Jesus You brought heaven down
My sin was great Your love was greater
What could separate us now
What a wonderful Name it is
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a wonderful Name it is
Nothing compares to this
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus
What a wonderful Name it is
The Name of Jesus
Death could not hold You
The veil tore before You
You silence the boast of sin and grave
The heavens are roaring
The praise of Your glory
For You are raised to life again
You have no rival
You have no equal
Now and forever God You reign
Yours is the kingdom
Yours is the glory
Yours is the Name above all names
What a powerful Name it is
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus Christ my King
What a powerful Name it is
Nothing can stand against
What a powerful Name it is
The Name of Jesus

I speak Jesus
I just want to speak the Name of Jesus
Over ev’ry heart and ev’ry mind
I know there is peace within Your presence
I speak Jesus
I just want to speak the Name of Jesus
‘Til ev’ry dark addiction starts to break
Declaring there is hope and there is freedom
I speak Jesus
Your Name is power
Your Name is healing
Your Name is life
Break ev’ry stronghold
Shine through the shadows
Burn like a fire
I just want to speak the Name of Jesus
Over fear and all anxiety
To ev’ry soul held captive by depression
I speak Jesus
Shout Jesus from the mountains
Jesus in the streets
Jesus in the darkness over ev’ry enemy
Jesus for my fam’ly
I speak the holy Name Jesus

Delta Epsilon Chi
The Honor Society of the Association for Biblical Higher Education recognizes graduating seniors who have distinguished themselves by: Intellectual Achievement (GPA 3.30 or higher), Christian Character, and Leadership Ability. Three Greek words, (dokimos en Xhristos), found in Romans 16:10, are translated “approved in Christ,” and begin with the three Greek letters delta epsilon chi, and thus the name and meaning of the ABHE Honor.
Sigma Chi Pi
The name of this honor society shall be Sigma Chi Pi, meaning “Diligent Christian Leader,” taken from Romans 12:8, “…one who leads, with diligence” (NKJV). The purpose of the Sigma Chi Pi honor society is to encourage and honor outstanding academic scholarship, approved Christian character, and Christian leadership demonstrated by graduates of postsecondary schools endorsed by The Alliance for Higher Education of the Assemblies of God. Qualifications include: (1) a scholastic average of no less than 3.0 GPA, (2) approved Christian character, and (3) diligent servant leadership.
