Accelerate students must meet Trinity’s regular college entrance standards to be considered for the program. They also must write a 2-page double-spaced, typed paper describing in 4 paragraphs their spiritual journey, ministry leadership passion, educational goals, and why they want to be an Accelerate student. Approval by the Accelerate committee is the next step.
Upon arriving at the campus, the student must sign an intent statement, which describes the benefits and expectations of the program. The director will provide an acceptance letter welcoming the student into the program.
To continue in the program, students must maintain at least a 2.7 GPA, and positive involvement in Student Life and Student Ministries requirements. They must also progress in the program consistently meeting milestones, such as formal admittance into the ministerial and Accelerate programs in the sophomore spring semester, and acceptance into the M.A. program.
Returning or transfer students must have a 2.7 college GPA, positive Student Life and Student Ministries records, a workable path to graduation without adding extra years to gain the B.A. degree, and the recommendation of the advisor. Students must be admitted to the college before they can be considered for the Accelerate program.
