Lions Football Loses at Home

The Trinity Bible College Lions were heading into Saturdays contest against Mayville State University Comets riding a two game win streak and were looking to stay undefeated at home for the season.  Both of those would fall as they would lose to a tough Mayville State University 7 to 44.

The first quarter was all Comets as they would score first and never look back. The Comets would find the endzone on a 1 yard touchdown run by Dom Bradley and the extra point was good to give them a 0 to 7 lead with 11 minutes left in the first quarter. It was only 3 minutes later when Dom Bradley would score again on a 1 yard touchdown run pushing the lead to 0 to 14 with 8 minutes left in the quarter. The Comets would then capitalize on a Lions fumble scoring the next drive in just one play on a 14 yard touchdown pass from Tanner Carpenter to Taylor Kunkel giving the Comets the 0 to 21 lead.  The Comets would score two more times in the first quarter the first on a 1 yard run and the second on a 10 yard pass. The Comets would add another touchdown this time on a 5 yard run by John Poppe but the Lions would block the extra point attempt. The Lions trailed the Comets 0 to 41 going into the first half.

The third quarter was a quiet one as both teams would trade punts; eventually the Comets would use a drive taking 6 minutes and converted a 19 yard field goal to push their lead to 0 to 44. The Lions would not be shut out on the day as they would be the only team to score in the fourth quarter.
