The Trinity Bible College Lions played their final home games of the season on Tuesday. Their opponent was Dakota College at Bottineau, a Junior College out of North Dakota. The Lions fell 85-73 after leading by four at halftime. Senior Shean Bosworth led the Lions with 25 points. Sophomore Terrance Sevion chipped in 14 points while senior Colby Simonsen added 12 points to round out the players in double-figures. Coach Nowell had this to say about the game: “We were in control in the first half, even grabbing the lead by 9 at one point, but we weren’t able to hold on to it. I think we got a little fatigued in the second half, and we stopped playing with the sense of urgency that we had in the first half. I really had hoped we could have gotten the seniors a win in their final home game.”

The loss spoiled a night in which Trinity honored four of their seniors. The Lions will have to replace some very key players with the loss of these four. In the group there are two 1,000 point scorers in Jimmy McKinzie and Colby Simonsen. Also, the Lions will have to replace Shean Bosworth, who has only played 2 years with the Lions, but has averaged over 18 points a game since joining the team. Last, but not least, Mo Mahoney. In his career, Mo has compiled 500 rebounds. These four will be sorely missed. On behalf of Trinity Bible College, we’d like to thank them for their years of hard work and dedication to the basketball program.
